SIDI was born in 1960. From a small artisan workshop for the manufacture of mountain sports shoes, the company specialized in the 1970s in the production of motorcycle boots and cycling shoes. Thanks to the passion, professionalism and innovative insights of its founder Dino Signori, an entrepreneur for more than 50 years and a long-time cyclist, SIDI has over time become one of the leading companies in its sector. Tradition and innovation, comfort and design are the elements that make SIDI sports shoes special today as yesterday.

Being ten years a rider in several racing classes, the company founder Gerhard Gilles realized that standard parts do not meet all expectations. He needed something better and that was the beginning: Gerhard Gilles made the first adjustable and lightweight rearsets by himself to use it on his track bike. The paddock became attentive very quickly and this was the next step of this successful history. More and more rearsets have been produced to help the other riders. So the direction was clear what to do after the racing career. In the year 2000 the company GILLES was founded to combine the passion for racing with technical knowledge and experience. This ended in the development and production of the first multivariable rearset, the AS31GT. At the same time this rearset kick-started a dynamic company which today sells its wide product range worldwide. Today GILLES is proud of being an original parts manufacturer for BMW Motorrad, Yamaha and Suzuki as well as having many more satisfied customers around the world.
